Life of Prof. Dr. Sazzad Hossain | Professor, Proctor & Provost.

Introduction

Professor Dr. Sazzad Hossain is Dhaka International University’s Proctor and the residential halls’ Provost. He has been an educator for the past 27 years and has taught in the Department of English at Dhaka International University for over two decades. Initially joining as a lecturer, Prof. Dr. Sazzad Hossain has climbed to the position of Professor in the Department of English through his sheer academic prowess, merit, and devotion to the profession as an educator. 

Academic Journey

Prof. Dr. Sazzad Hossain DIU has completed his BA in English and has completed an MA in English literature both from Dhaka University. He completed his PhD in Applied Linguistics and ELT from Jahangirnagar University. 

Professional Career

Sazzad Hossain started his career as an educator by joining as an English Lecturer at Ideal College in the year 1997. He would later go on to join as a Lecturer in the Department of English at Dhaka International University in 1999. He would steadily climb the ranks in the department and become a Professor in 2015.

Proctor Dr. Sazzad Hossain’s leadership roles within Dhaka International University’s Department of English have been instrumental in its growth and development.

  • Beginning with his tenure as an acting chairman, he demonstrated his ability to face challenges and steer the department toward excellence. His guiding vision and management allowed the smooth functioning of academic programs and administrative affairs.
  • Dr. Hossain assumed the role of a full-fledged chairman, where his leadership capabilities were further showcased. He provided visionary leadership, creating an environment good for learning, and research.
